As part of the ongoing implementation of Phase 4 of the Palma Water Rehabilitation Project, ALPS Resilience recently welcomed a field visit from partners at Rovuma LNG (Exxon) to key project sites in Palma District.

During the visit, the team toured two elevated water towers currently under construction, including their associated public water points. These sites are part of the broader effort to expand access to safe and reliable water for communities across the district.

The visit also included a stop at Namdimba Primary School, which was rehabilitated by ALPS Resilience in the previous year. The improvements have contributed to a safer and more supportive learning environment, enhancing conditions for students and teachers alike.

In the coming days, the visiting team is expected to continue site visits, including the newly constructed sanitation facilities at Muti Primary School, further demonstrating the integrated approach of combining water access with improved sanitation and education infrastructure.

A key focus of the discussions during the visit was the importance of establishing and strengthening Water Committees, which play a critical role in ensuring the long-term management, maintenance, and sustainability of the infrastructure.

This visit underscores the value of strong partnerships and coordinated efforts in delivering impactful, community-driven solutions. Together, ALPS Resilience and its partners continue to support improved access to clean water and better education opportunities, contributing to more resilient communities in Cabo Delgado.
