Safe sanitation for Palma's schools

Clean water is only half of what WASH means. The other half is safe sanitation, and in the schools of Palma District that means proper toilet blocks that give children, and especially girls, a reason to stay in class.

As part of its wider water and sanitation work, ALPS Resilience has built separate, durable latrine blocks at a school in the district, each with its own superstructure and drainage, and placed within easy reach of the classrooms.

It is unglamorous infrastructure that makes a real difference: better hygiene, more dignity, and one less reason for a child to miss a day of school.
