The ALPS compound in Palma

Working in northern Cabo Delgado means keeping a secure base close to the communities we serve. This year ALPS Resilience completed its own operational compound in Palma: a walled, gated yard with secure storage for materials, plant and vehicles, and space to prepare and stage works.
For years, programmes in the region have carried the cost of renting yards and compounds, an expense that ultimately falls to the funders. A permanent ALPS base replaces that recurring rent with a lasting asset, and keeps materials, water tanks and equipment safe and on hand between and during contracts.
It is a quiet piece of value engineering: less money spent on rent, more staying in the ground where the boreholes, buildings and water towers get built.
